Where Lookeen is better
Lookeen searches documents and file shares as well as mail, and it has a server edition that indexes centrally for a whole company. If you are buying for an IT department that wants one index serving many people, KAM-Q has nothing to offer you and Lookeen does. It has also been around far longer, which is worth something.
Where KAM-Q is better
Price. Lookeen's entry tier is roughly three times KAM-Q's renewal price, per person.
Mac. Lookeen is a Windows product. KAM-Q runs on both, on one licence.
The People view. A ranked list of everyone who writes to you, when they write, and every file they have sent. This is the part people keep rather than the search box.
Four installations on one licence, so a laptop and a desktop are both covered without buying twice.
You keep what you paid for if you stop renewing, and your mail never leaves your computer.
Which to choose
Lookeen for a company that wants central indexing across documents and file shares. KAM-Q for a person who wants their own mail searchable instantly, on whichever computers they use, without an annual bill that makes them think twice.
